hope davison

is a 2nd/gen Japanese American filmmaker with roots in North Carolina and Tokyo. She enjoys creative storytelling through the lens of empathy and nuance; much of her work reflects on the uncertainties of life that exist within. In between freelancing, she has done original video and photo work for The Washington Post and The Grand Rapids Press.

She is a co-founder of From Kudzu, a creative video collective exploring Asian American identity in the U.S. South. From Kudzu the film is a recipient of the 2023 DCEFF Vantage Grant and currently in production.

She is currently based in Tokyo, Japan.
